Al-Futtaim is present in more than 20 countries, enhancing and enriching the lives of millions every day. From their home in the United Arab Emirates, they have extended their corporate family across the Middle East and into Africa, South Asia, and Southeast Asia.
As a diversified organisation, they bring the quality and reputation of more than 200 companies into human life. Al-Futtaim’s 33,000 dedicated employees are committed to helping clients make the right choice – no matter their location or need – in sectors as varied as automotive, retail, real estate, and finance.
Al Futtaim operates across multiple business units in the UAE, generating a high volume of daily operational activities. Within this environment, the HSE department is responsible for monitoring risks, recording incidents, and ensuring corrective actions are taken to prevent recurrence.
Prior to this initiative, incident and accident reporting was handled manually. This resulted in incomplete or inconsistent data, slow follow up on incidents, limited visibility into corrective actions, and increased operational risk as the organization continued to grow. The manual process also made it difficult to maintain a reliable history of incidents and actions taken, increasing the likelihood of repeated issues and errors.
The HSE department needed a structured, reliable, and scalable solution to standardize incident reporting and improve risk control across the organization.
Since 2023, TopNotch Technology has led the HSE digital transformation journey by analyzing existing processes, identifying failure points, and redesigning them into a standardized digital workflow.
A dedicated HSE Incident Management application was developed using Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate. The solution guided users through structured incident reporting, enforced mandatory data capture, and automated follow up and corrective action workflows. A centralized system was created to track incidents, actions taken, and outcomes, providing the HSE team with full operational visibility and control.
The application was designed to be user friendly, scalable, and aligned with Al Futtaim’s governance and compliance requirements.
By digitizing HSE incident management, Al Futtaim transformed a manual and reactive process into a structured, proactive, and scalable risk management platform. The solution improved safety governance, reduced operational risk, and enabled the HSE team to respond faster and more effectively to incidents, supporting the organization’s continued growth and commitment to workplace safety.
